"Pastor L", as he is called, has been serving the Lord in Pastoral Ministry for more than 25 years. He is an ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and also serves a District Overseer of the West Asheville Church of God District.
He is married to Susan Byars Lunsford since 1989. He and Susan have two daughters, Lindsey and Ashely. Both he and his lovely wife Susan are gifted musicians, and have a true Pastors heart for people. They serve fervently to reach the lost and to edify those who want a deeper walk with the Lord. The West Asheville Church of God has seen tremendous growth since they started serving in November 2004.
Having graduated from North Buncombe High in 1973, he also has studies from East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, NC. His wife Susan has an Associate’s degree from Gardner Webb University.
Pastor L is the one of five children born to Herman & Ruth Lunsford of Barnardsville, NC. Susan is the only child of Robert & Doreen Byars of Columbus, NC.
